Karen M. Fiumara is an associate attorney at our West Los Angeles office, where she works closely with Partner Julia Schneider, CFLS.

Since becoming a licensed California attorney in 2022, Karen has practiced exclusively in family law. She brings to her work a solid background in civil litigation, including matters involving employment, real property, and business disputes—skills that now inform her nuanced approach to family law, particularly in cases involving property division and complex marital estates.

Karen is committed to helping clients move through the legal process with clarity and confidence, emphasizing practical solutions and the value of resolving matters amicably whenever appropriate. Her practice includes divorce and legal separation, spousal support, premarital agreements, child custody and visitation, grandparent visitation, child support, and property division. She has a particular interest in forward-looking planning, such as premarital agreements, and in helping clients achieve fair and efficient outcomes in property-related matters.

Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Political Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the Honors College. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law, where she was a founding board member of the Family Law Society. While in law school, she also volunteered with the USD Women’s Clinic, assisting underserved clients with matters such as custody and dissolution.

Karen is a member of both the Beverly Hills Bar Association and the Santa Monica Bar Association.

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, she now lives in Los Angeles with her husband and their two cats. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, traveling, practicing yoga, and spending time with family.
